Justin Chu

“I design for a woman constantly changing, one who is never settled on one way of living. She finds her identity, world, and form through her silhouette, the landscape of her evolutionary process.”

Justin Chu was born and raised in San Francisco. His early involvement in the arts—exploring theater, dance, and music—led to his passion for sculpture and drawing. While studying at Parsons, he interned with Marc Jacobs and Altuzarra. In 2013, Chu received the Samsung Scholarship Award; the prestigious CFDA Geoffrey Beene Scholarship Award to offset the expenses of his senior year; and a sponsorship from Politecnico Calzaturiero to produce six pairs of shoes for his final collection. His work was featured in Les Arts Décoratifs at the Louvre in Paris for a Master Class Exhibition.

"My thesis collection explores the notion that an evolutionary perfection is unattainable because standards of perfection are always in flux. I design for a woman constantly changing, one who is never settled on one way of living. She finds her identity, world, and form through her silhouette, the landscape of her evolutionary process."
