1. skin is in
Proof that Cruise is now an all-weather season: Leather was everywhere this go-round. For her debut at Celine, Phoebe Philo cut the stuff into a coat of minimal perfection, while Christopher Kane and Balenciaga's Nicolas Ghesquière left the biker jacket in the dust with their fitted leather toppers.

2. the diving belle
Jacques Cousteau, fashion icon? A scuba theme surfaced at Proenza Schouler and Phi, where graphic elements were combined with aspects of body con and active sport dressing. Richard Nicoll's Cruise debut also made a splash.

3. graphic content
Designers mixed prints every which way. At Prada, there was a mash-up of primary-colored scarf prints, while bouquets of florals were delivered at Lanvin, Erdem, and Zac Posen.

8. the shining
Lamé lent some holiday sparkle to the season. Marc Jacobs not only reprised Kate Moss' shimmering Costume Institute number for Resort but offered gilded separates that can stand the light of day. In London, Roksanda Ilincic took a shine to copper.

9. big red
Designers' love affair with look-at-me red continued from Fall. At Donna Karan the hue gave a summery skirt some tango kick; the MO at Bottega Veneta was clearly not business as usual—natty suits weren't shown in basic black but tomato red.

10. now on deck
Apparently, it's not called Cruise for nothing. At Louis Vuitton, the nautical look was given a coquettish French twist (and topped with a beret). We're also on board for the mix of stripes and prints at Marc Jacobs and Derek Lam.
