trend report: plenty of real-world clothes from the resort shows
Chanel's Karl Lagerfeld got the Resort collections started in Saint-Tropez back in early May. Over 130 shows later, some distinctive trends have emerged, and we're not just talking about the usual cruise season suspects like caftans and cutout maillots. What to watch for: allover prints, bold colors, white pantsuits, and short shorts. Resort these days is about much, much more than getaway clothes (well, OK, maybe those sexy hot pants are best saved until you're a time zone or two removed from the office).
