This year's installment of Lollapalooza had the Strokes, Soundgarden, and Green Day, but (surprise!) Lady Gaga was the big story. Three years after an unmemorable appearance at the Chicago festival, she returned as a headliner with an onstage army of outrageously dressed backup performers in tow. Meanwhile, the crowds—with their leopard-print short shorts, exposed lingerie, and spray-painted hair—did their best to keep up.
