Spring 2011 Preview

INTERDISCIPLINARY AWARD
Minimalism may be in, but that isn't stopping designers from partnering with jewelry makers to help accessorize their shows. Matthew Ames is embarking on his first-ever collaboration, co-designing jewelry (including ankle cuffs!) with Anndra Neen. Doo-Ri Chung has enlisted Melissa Joy Manning; new-to-the-schedule label Creatures of the Wind has lined up Annie Costello Brown for leather accessories and Erickson Beamon for baubles; and Carlos Miele is working with Ivanka Trump Fine Jewelry. And then there's Fenton/Fallon designer Dana Lorenz, who is marking the launch of her men's jewelry line by teaming up with Tim Hamilton. For Hamilton's Redux presentation, Lorenz is making versions of her leather-and-chain and enamel pieces in exclusive colors and creating one-off pins and cuffs emblazoned with the nicknames of the models who'll be wearing them. Who is "Battle Cat"? Find out September 10.
